This exhibition by Sandra Angers-Blondin,  is a photographic journey to Qikiqtaruk, an uninhabited island in the Canadian Arctic. It is a place where caribou, bears and muskoxen roam among delicate tundra flowers while whales and seals break the surface between slabs of sea ice. Millennia of light-touch use by native Inuvialuit and short bursts of whaling and fur trading activity also left fascinating artefacts.

Everyone has a happy place; its sights, smells and sounds a thousand answers to the question, “Why should I care about climate change?”. I wanted to create luminous and serene images as a celebration of the plants, animals, landscapes and heritage features that make Qikiqtaruk so special – my own answers.
